I have created a fun way to engaged your students in writing reviews for their favourite books. This would be a great addition to your persuasive writing unit! BookTok reviews are short videos that review, summarize, and express their opinions on a book. By making these reviews, students will provide so much information about a book in such a short period of time. I created this assignment so that students can create their own reviews for their favourite books, to show to the class. The goal of this assignment is to help students work on their persuasive writing skills, while classmates may be encouraged to read a few new books after watching their peers presentations! I like to show students some reviews before starting the activity, and then have students record book reviews (or they can preform them live). I have included everything that your students will need for this activity from the review graphic organizers to help students form their thoughts and opinions on their books, the writing outline, creative visual brainstorming, reflection questions, voting cards, as well as a student checklist, and marking rubric.
