Summarizing Any Book Novel Study Assignment (Grade 7/8) Marking Tools Included

I have created a novel study assignment that students can use with any book that will improve engagement through fun activities. These activities improve reading comprehension by ensuring students can summarize the information being provided within the text. Included in this resource are 7 unique activities that will have students summarize what is happening in the text. Students can then use these summarize to help support them in other novel study assignments that they may complete. I have included a teacher’s guide to explain how the resource will run, and a chapter breakdown to keep your students organized. I have also included a student checklist and marking checklist, so that you can save time while marking. This resource is aligned to the Ontario Language Curriculum strand C2.6 but will be effective in any middle school classroom!
