I have created this fun and engaging activity for students to learn about credit card and what it means to take on debt with accumulating interest. For this activity you will provide students with their own credit cards that they will get to design. Then the teacher will hold a class mega sale, where you can sell items to students which they can use their credit cards to purchase. At the end of each day a set interest will be added to students balances that have not been paid off. As the teacher you will then post class jobs that can be done for students to earn money. I have included a detailed teacher’s guide that explains the specific instructions in detail. I also made sure to include 2 worksheets that will help keep your students purchases, credit card points, interest, earnings, and current balance organized. Two examples of these worksheets filled out were also included to show your students exactly how the activity will work. You can run this activity for however long you wish but the idea is that students can continue to use their credit cards to purchase items, and will work towards paying off their credit card purchases and interest by completing class jobs.
