Alternate Ending Creative Writing Any Book Novel Study Assignment

This novel study assignment will get your students excited to practice their creative writing skills, summarizing, and personal reflections. I have created this assignment to be classroom ready and requires no prep so that you can save time in your day! This activity teaches students different elements that create a strong ending to a story. Students will then summarize and analyze an ending for the book they are reading for their novel study. Students will then create a sketch note and brainstorm ideas for the ending that they will write on their own. To complete the activity students will reflect on the process of writing an alternate ending. I included a student checklist and a marking tool for you to access student work!
